Forums - Gaming - Deadly trend spotted within xb1 exclusives

Hmmmm, never looked at it that way. Maybe the companies that took money from MS were already having issues with cash. Maybe thats why they went exclusive so easily, they simply needed the money.
I think this gen is going to be a rude awaking for a lot of 3rd party devs that are going exclusive.
So far i have not seen any of the devs benefit from it.

Without funding they wouldn't even have a chance to make a game so its better than going bankrupt and closing down.

Also, Insomniac did go multiplatform but EA forced a lot of changes and we saw the final product with FUSE. MS has given them the freedom to create whatever they wanted and not some generic dude bro shooter.

The KI studio got bought up after making the game by Amazon.  If it wasnt for MS double Helix wouldn't have gotten the funding and IP to create a  next gen game.

Respawn needed Help to create Titanfall. If it wasn't for MS Titanfall wouldn't have released. Thanks to MS now they are a hugely successfull and will be able to support themselves going forward.

Around the Network

Sounds like Sony early last generation... how many 3rd party devs bit the dust with failed PS3 exclusives again?

Factor 5 (formerly of the stellar Rogue Squadron and Turrican series) went under after the abysmal Lair.

Free Radical (formerly of Timesplitters fame and comprised of former Goldeneye team members from Rare) released the critical bomb Haze and went under shortly after as well. And many more 3rd parties struggled early on in the PS3's life cycle.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
