That's not confirmed. Phil Spencer said on twitter 2 months ago that rights on LO are a little unclear right now.

Considering the reason he stayed away from PS3 was because of the complex architecture he shouldn't have any problems if he wants to do something on PS4 this time around.

I have no idea why the guy still avoids Sony platforms. I mean his grudge with the with Ken Kuturagi is well known - and he is long gone. And I doubt the PS3 architecture was the only thing holding him back from putting a game on that platform all these years.
Also, from an interview back in 2007, the guy wasn't too happy with MS either, regarding their marketing and presence in Japan.
All in all, I'm expecting either an iOS/Android game (most likely), or something for the Wii U.

What? And you didn't even try Infinite Undiscovery at least?

Yeah and the reviews are pretty bad for the title aswell.
The more I see from online, the more I'm thinking it's either a mobile game... :(
Or maybe an MMO. To me, both would be disappointing.

I don't think that's the only reasons he's avoided Playstation for all these years. From what I've heard, Sakaguchi didn't want the Square Enix merger to happen, and Sony invested some money in one or the other which allowed the merger to happen. That's why Sakaguchi stepped down as Vice President and left Square right around the time that the merger happened. Not sure if that's confirmed or rumored, but it sounds plausible to me, I honestly can't see Mistwalker avoiding Playstation all these years just because of the architecture, not when so many other developers found ways to work around their issues with the architecture. |
That's interesting considering that his failure at being a movie maker is what tanked the company and created the need for the merger to begin with.
