I actually think Bungie got an okay deal with Activision. They seem to have full control over their game/IP and a budget to match.

Where i see activisions influence is in the already planned 2nd and 3rd destiny...i seriously doubt bungie wanted to be forced to create sequels before the first game even ships.

What i think a lot of people dont get is that Bungie does not make the decisions when it comes to making exclusive deals with platform holders...that most likely done by Activision.

Agree. If it was up to most devs I'm sure they wouldn't section off certain parts of the game and put it only on one platform (Key word being most, I'm sure some would).

Also I guess it should be expected really, Bungie is in a contract for 10 years so expecting multiple games from Destiny is a given really. I'd be surprised if they make another new IP under Activision.

Its not that easy to buy a new system. Gaming is not cheap. I will also be buying on Xbox and dont give a shit about the extra content. I assure you no one can miss what they never had

It goes the other way also.  I will be buying the game for the PS4.  Not because of any extra content or exclusive DLC, but because I want a White PS4.

Good point. I'm tempted into buying the white PS4 myself. But not sure if I should since there really isn't much point since I already have one.

Yeah... I hate that I don't get sunset overdrive. I have owned every single insomniac game since the ps2 (well at least most of them). And i felt SO was a return to form for the studio. Do I feel betrayed? Not one bit. I am happy for them and wish them well, they gave me tons of years of awesome games. Let the guys on the other side get a taste of their awesomeness. And hey..I at least get a taste of bungie now... so all's fair.

Unfortunately, to some gamers thinking like this can get you lynched.

I can see being bummed about one console getting extra content, but not because of WHICH console is getting it?

On a somewhat related note, after hearing a bunch of excitement for SO I decided to watch some gameplay...Yeah...they can keep it.

I can definitely see how fanboys are feeling betrayed, but that's their fault for being an xbox fanboy. Bungie is not part of Microsoft and so they do not owe them anything. IMO, Halo made the xbox and not the other way around. Even before halo was slated for the Xbox, journalist were already getting excited for the game. The playstation exclusive content for Destiny is coming at a price to Sony. It's not like Bungie is choosing sides. Bungie has always joked around about "world domination" and so that also includes the playstation. If they were true fans, they'd support Bungie with whatever console Bungie chooses.

On the flip side, it could also be said that Microsoft is a bit threatened by Destiny. Their most beloved console exclusive, Halo, is going to compete almost directly with the game. If anything , they wouldn't want Destiny to succeed because it gives less reason for anyone to choose an Xbox over the competition when they can get a "Halo" experience somewhere else. And so, obviously, they wouldn't make much of an effort to support the game.
