The first rule about SCEJ is that you don't talk about SCEJ.
it might be a good thing (a fresh experienced mind ,after 16 years ,could sometimes do wonders for the company)
Time will tell
We don't have any idea what's going on behind the scenes yet, but I really think it's funny how the anti-everything Sony trolls are saying this is terrible news. If I recall, he was the same guy who made some terrible PR spins that made these same anti-everything Sony people say that he should go.
Oh I don't know, how about "Rumble is last gen"?

Time to see what they'll do without him.
Sad ,I liked his work and he spoke very well .That doesnt mean his succesor cant do a good job and add some fresh ideas .He was a great PR guy but ultimately his job was supervisor of first party product.Good luck at Atari ,he will need it.
Out with the old, in with the new. When a ship is sinking make sure you jump off in time. What about those 2 million Sony laptops being recalled due to the faulty batteries.
With the state of the US economy going downhill, how will this impact upon the video game industry?

Isn't Atari going through some rough times right now?
fkusumot said: Wow. I wonder if this is linked to his comments about the casual stuff at GDC? If they fired him that's pretty harsh. |
It might be but not in the way you think. He might of just been continuely frustrated that Sony still refused to go the path of "couch entertainment".
Edit: Atari? Really? He's jumping off a ship that was taking water but has righted itself to jump on a sinking ship.

My first thoughts as well. I think its plausible but if so it was likely the proverbial "last straw". And really I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to move on to something else and the comments made at GDC were simply indicative of the difference in direction. Perhaps he will end up working for NoA since it seems his ideas align quite well with Nintendo's strategy.
Conspiracy Theory: He made the comments at GDC knowing he was going to be fired soon and hoping it would help him land a job at NoA. |
