I'm a little confused. Were people exploiting things that prompted them to make the drastic changes to the standard gameplay? I like the original game and the new harder version both, but it kind of sucks we can no longer play the regular older modes with the old graphics, sound, and enemy movement. Or can we and I am just missing it?

Yep housemarque has interpreted the various means players used to get high scores as exploits and implemented the various changes to address it.

This also prompted the reset in high scores...im with you on playing the older version as well. I wish they included it somehow even if it would just be for fun.

I'm a bit disappointed that they've reset the leaderboards and only kept the hero mode ones, but I guess they have their reasons

I haven't played the game in a while, since I got the platinum, but I am looking forward to the changes though I don't think I can remember enough to be able to tell the difference

Free ship editor and local co-op are very nice additions and I will definitely be trying them

As for the actual DLC, I must confess I never really enjoyed any of the Super Stardust DLC, but I bought the season pass here. Given I got the game for "free" and it's so cheap, I figured it would be worth a punt, so I'll be playing it through in the next few days. I'm looking forward to getting back to one of the best games on the system

I suppose you had some very high scores too bummer.

If you got the platinum i think you will easily be able to notice the differences. You will start wondering why your scores are so low...unless you never really had high scores :/

Btw whats your PSN munkeh? Can i add you?

Munkeh111, I'm not the most original

My scores were never that high, I did have a clear run on rookie with no deaths (maybe on medium too), though I'm definitely not great...

I'm playing through Uncharted 2 at the moment, because I hadn't played it for a year or two, but after that I think it's Resogun, Watch_Dogs and Transistor

Just gpt the season pass for resogun...its super cheap. The heroes dlc is even cheaper. How are they profiting from this? Pretty much their best first party game and they selling it dirt cheap.

It seems like the DLC is included in the patch download...because after i purchased the DLC there was no download.

I must say the new modes are pretty awesome. They are tough no doubt and certainly aren't aimed at the casual players...you called it biglittle!

The survival mode will probably become the mode of choice for most players looking to compete in the leaderboards. The multiplier never goes down so it's got a more geometry wars, super stardust feel to it. Also theres no set spawn spots and types. It seems to be relatively random which is good. This mode really does feel like a classis geometry wars which is great.

Demolition im not sold on...it was fun and interesting but i dont see it being a favourite.

One negative has been PSN. I struggled to get on tonight and then after i finally unlocked the DLC...my game froze while i was playing the new survival mode. Also all my scores wern't recorded because PSN was down. And to top it off my battery died after just about a hour playing -_- Sony really needs to sort out the PSN outages and load balancing. And the controller needs to have a better battery.

Going to try and post some high scores tomorrow. I've gone back to playing on experienced difficulty to get accustomed to the new style of gameplay. Its pretty tough! But awesome none the less. I recommend the DLC to any players who enjoyed the original game...and are looking for another challenge. The new survival mode should appeal to traditional super stardust and geometry wars fans but its also pretty tough. housemarque keeps delivering

Uncharted 2! I think I've reached my limit when it comes to replaying Uncharted games. Done so many replays of U1 and U2. It's ironic that people critise it for being linear and cinematic yet it has insane replay value :)

Will add you tomorrow when I'm back on my PS4. Maybe we can try out some resogun co-op!

I just finished playing through 1 again and am quite shocked about how much I could remember precisely. Enemies spawn points and precise strategies for various locations, they almost came out in muscle memory! I'm playing them through as part of my quest to platinum every Naughty Dog game. It's not going great so far with just Jak 1 (on PS3 and Vita), Uncharted 1 and 2. Next up is 3, then the Last of Us, though survivor mode might kill me

Sounds good, at the very least it'll be nice to have more people to compete with!

Local MP and ship editor are the only things i care about and that's free so, no hard feeling from me.

I barely managed one playthrough of U3...never ever thought of replaying it. A bit of a dissapointment when i look back :/

@poklane what are your thoughts on the patch changes and the DLC? Also negative?

Definitely made the game harder, but IMO not in a negative way.

I think is really fun the survival I wanna keep playing and beating my score as well as other peoples scores and demolition is pretty fun too, for £6.50 (season pass) when I got the game free it's a cheap awesome game.
