OP: I haven't played any games that have released this year so far, but I think Donkey Kong looks the best out of the released games. I just prefer Platformers.

Are we talking about VGX or just in general? Cause just based on last year, they clearly have a different point of view! With that being said, most likely as of right now

Wolfenstein: the New Order is my GOTY so far easily.  I don't think I have ever played a single player game 3 times in a row completely through without taking a break for another game before.  Mario Kart is excellent though.

it's hard not to give mario kart 8 the nod since it has the best tracks of any mario kart game ever. however, my personal game of the year might be DKC:TF

Most sites do a GOTY competition, so it depends. There's no single overall GOTY election.

Zelda ALBW for 3DS won GOTY last year on Gamespot.

I think it's an early contender for game of the generation.

Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze would likely be my first choice...
