Many people complain about Wii U sales being low and blame it on the droughts in between major games released. Obviously remarketing an old game in HD won't see tens of millions of sales, but could help allieveate the devistation caused between major titles. Super Mario Sunshine HD I'm sure could start  up some buzz. At the same time, Nintendo wouldn't want to abuse this by releasing so many they would run out. They have such a huge past releasing an HD remake once a year or a collection of classics would do nothing but help sales

Well they certainly have a huge library of stuff they can remake into HD so sure as long as it needs an HD remake

Um how about one every 2 years you dont want the wii u to known for having a lot of old games remastered

WiiU should get HD remakes every month, as should PS4 and X1.

Absolutely. I'd go even further than that and say 2 games per year. I was surprised they didn't announce them at E3 tbh.

They made a small fortune from Wind Waker HD thanks to their conversion software. Any GameCube game can be given the Wind Waker HD treatment by a small team in just 6 months, and I would imagine given the similarities that the same can be said for any Wii game too.

They could even let third parties use it to give publishers/developers a low cost and low risk option to support the Wii U.

It's bizarre that they haven't released more of them tbh, particularly given that there's an empty two or three month slot before the next game for the Wii U is released.

They shouldn't release too many.
And if they do remake some games (it would be first party only), they should only remake their big sellers that would sell well today.
With that said, Super Mario Sunshine HD and Luigi's Mansion HD would be great.

I think after announcing a game via Nintendo direct commercials also announce a HD Remake in that Class of game ( i.e. Zelda U then make a HD Remake of Majora's Mask or Twighlight Princess, etc). Lets say its July 1st 2015, announce new game for October/November then announce HD Remake Coming out July 15th. That way people are excited about the game coming but now are more excited about it because of remake of game and they stay excited because there playing a game in that series. But have different modes classic and ReUmagined, like a few new levels, different items, 2 players (in some games), different bosses, etc. Make a promotion, say buy HD Remake at $45 get $10 off new game or get limited edition of new game for price of standard edition. If they wanna push Digital like they seam like then offer $40 Digital edition of HD get new game at $60 plus exclusive Down loadable Content. It will help sales of Wii U.

Considering the success of WWHD I'm honestly surprised we didn't get an announcement at E3. It seemed like the obvious move. But when do they ever do what's obvious, right?

I would love Super Mario Sunshine HD. Any Metroid Primes would be welcome too, though like many I would prefer and HD trilogy collection. Makes me drool thinking about it...

Nintendo should have a whole bunch of smaller teams (internal and external) work on remakes. Wii U needs every piece of software it can get and remakes/remasters of Super Mario 64, Majora's Mask, Eternal Darkness, Metroid Prime, Xenoblade etc. would be more than welcome.

Remakes won't sell many systems but they'll at least help repair some of the leaks in the release schedule.
