Also, if it's only used during battles, it means you can only have one per battle. If they make it part of the evolutionary line, there can be a Full team of Megas! That would be OP as fuck.

Yeap, certain pokemon with mega stones cant even go into mega's due to the fact it might screw themselves over.

Another Example is Gyrados. Water/Flying vs a Fighting type. Of course you can play mind games (i won several times with this lol) to throw off your opponent!
