So this thread will be for Pokemon Fans (Duh) that are into competitive play (or looking to be) and want to do an analysis and predictions of what we might see in the upcoming Pokemon gen 3 remakes for Mega Evolutions!

I'll be changing the poll and add 10 pokemon to do the next analysis of. Most votes and we move onto the next. I'll have all past discussion in the 2nd post! We'll change pokemon every 2-5 days (depending on how popular each one is).

I'll post all information accordingly!

Rules are simple for each Mega Analysis... (If you want to make up your own)

1. Each pokemon we talk about adds up 100points into their total BST (Base Stat Total). No HP gains wat so ever (Mega's dont gain HP upon evolution)

2. Flavor wise: Meaning dont be ridiculous with Typing/Ability/adding all 100 points into one stat etc! Ex: Mega Salamence turns into a Bug/Fairy lol!

3. Ability's can be made up, but obviously put an explanation to what it is and nothing OP!

4. Respect everybody's opinion! These are just predictions :0

*Remember we want the pokemon to be good! OU worthy

All right to kick things off, We'll start with Torkoal!

★ Mega Analysis #1 Torkoal ★

HP   Atk    Def   Sp. Atk  Sp. Def  Speed

 70    85    140       85        70         20

 70    95    180     125        80        20

Mega Torkoal:  Fire/Rock

Abilty~ *Thick Smoke: All Super Effective Moves are Half Damage

Synopsis: With adding the terrible rock typing to fire which makes it have two x4 super effective weaknesses it might seem like a bad choice but add in an ability which cuts in half those moves (Like Filter but 1/2 instead of 1/3) and boosting its already good def with now a good Sp Atk that can help out. This also eliminates weaknessess like fighting to neutral!

Pros:

Rapid Spinner

Great in Trick Room Teams

Mega Torkoal Fanart! If you have more pls post!

Mega Camerupt and Mega Sharpedo are pretty much confirmed because Archie and Maxie both have mega stones and those are their only unique Pokemon.

Already sick of this mega evolution stuff. If a pokemon has only one or two stages just give the damm thing an evolution, none of this only during battle. Even for Charizard, Blastoise and co who already have 3 stages, I dont understand why the change can't be a permanent evo/forme change. Lets face it, if you have it in your team you will pretty much be mega evolving it every time it's out.

Not the case with every pokemon. Garchomp/Tyranitar/Gengar/Scizor/Venasaur/Gyrados/etc can play mind games with the opponent.

Also mega's aren't everything, they can definitely give you an edge, but wat i personally like about mega's the most is the fact you can have only 1 per battle. Thanks to that in the future (and even now) we'll see much more unique teams as everybody will have different pokemon.

As for the one stage vs 3 stage, that doesn't matter. Stages has nothing to do with how strong one pokemon is/etc. Though Some pokemon should get a normal evolution like sableye/absol but others such as Lapras just need a mega evolution

@Blob not necessairly. Say I use Ampharos Vs Salamance. If Mega Evolve, Ampharos become Electric/Dragon type, which means I'm weak to Dragon Claw and Draco Meteor. So I shouldn't Mega evolve my Ampharos.
Also, if it's only used during battles, it means you can only have one per battle. If they make it part of the evolutionary line, there can be a Full team of Megas! That would be OP as fuck.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

NNID: Slarvax - Steam: Slarvax - Friend Code:  SW 7885-0552-5988

 70    85    170     110        115        20

Type: keep as fire type purely

Ability: Solid Rock reduces super effective damage by a quarter so X2 becomes X1.5  Edit I would make this affect stealth rock damage also since I do not see that being reduced anytime soon.

Fire rock makes more sense but I would prefer we keep some pokemon mono type

lol, i had the same thing in mind at first (but Sp Def was 100 and Def was 180). That seems like the safest bet. I would like to see a Fire/Water Torkoal but it doesn't have any water attacking moves :-/

Volcanion will hopefully be released soon, going to make an amendment to the ability though with an edit.
