Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Ubisoft CEO: “Nintendo has to perform this year, otherwise they will have less games”

Sure, however it seems more like a self-fulfilling prophecy than a matter of causality.

I can't remember seeing a blockbuster IP by Ubisoft premiering on the U, do you?

To recall, AC 1's 1st release date was Nov 13 2007.

Who knew that Assassin's Creed would be a blockbuster in 2006/7 when it was announced/released.  It was a new IP for the time.  Ubisoft did not have any exclusives permiering on the PS3 either as AC 1 went multiplatform before release and sold better on the 360.  ZombiU IS a blockbuster (costing more than Assassin's Creed did as Yves IP put the cost of AC < 20 mil) for the U and it fell flat on its face.

Nintendo are no longer losing money on Wii U hardware, so why drop the price, they are a business also.

Except that XOne owners actually buy 3rd party games.

Exactly, as long as Nintendo has fans like this

Hopefully they will drop support regardless of how the Wii U performs. I want to see the value of the console improve.

The less support the Wii U will have.

Double Kill! Conrgamer wins.

Nintendo doesn't have much wiggle room left except for holidays. I don't expect a price drop till next year to be honest.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

It kind of makes sense, but on the other hand that kind of behavior from Ubisoft is one of the reason why the install base isn't any bigger. That is kinda of a double-edged sword way of thinking over this new generation.

I must assume they totally understand Nintendo only can sell their console.

There aight no sunshine with the wii u, ubisoft! Just abandon ship while u still can

The hostage casual game they've completed is not worth a price drop.

"¡Viva la Ñ!"

man some of these new guys are dropping like flys

I find nothing wrong with Ubisoft not supporting a system they don't think will be profitable for them. That being said, the way they're going on about it rubs me the wrong way. Develop for it or don't, but don't needlessly bring bad press to the console.

Ubisoft does not understand that Nintendo fans for the most part do not like their generic bore fest of games.
Most Nintendo fans play games for gameplay and less of story. Thats something none of their games excell in they are all snorefests. I do not have the time to invest in a story i just wanna pop a game in and get rolling.
