As much as I love both games, I have to give it to Ocarina. In my opinion it's not only the best Zelda game, it's the best game, period. Twilight is a beautiful, well-designed, deep, and rewarding game, but it can't compete with a game as monumental as Ocarina.

It's my #1 Zelda game against my #3 Zelda game.

I feel Ocarina is better, because it's more consistently better.

Every Zelda game other than Ocarina and Link's Awakening to me have at least one thing that's off, tiny as it may be. Twilight Princess is basically perfect like those two, if not for two bosses that are less than stellar to me (Argorok (dragon boss in City in the Sky) and Morpheel (water snake boss in Lakebed Temple)). Then there's the music which is a tad better in Ocarina, and the overall 'epic', 'legendary' feel in Ocarina beats that of Twilight. Ocarina's 'legendary' feel is of course helped greatly by the fact that the game's story is probably the most important one in the entire timeline while Twilight's is hardly relevant in the grand scheme of things.

These two are my favorite Zelda games along with Link's Awakening and Link Between Worlds...
I have to give it to Ocarina of Time though...

Comparing a legendary game (ocarina of time) with something decent (twilight princess) seems wrong.

TWP, I had way more fun with it than OoT, and setting appealed more to me.

And unlike Navi, which I would strangle on site, Midna is great companion.

This is like asking which was the better film : GOODFELLAS or CASINO.

I wouldn't call it gimmicky! It was made for the GameCube!

I love TP but playing as the wolf really destroyed the experience for me. It was not as fun as the masks in MM and no where as fun as just being Link himself.

OOT is the best game of all time. when i first played it in 1998. It was the greatest thing i ever experienced. if a game can change a life/cure cancer this is it.
