Money runs this industry, not gameplay. The sooner you learn that the better. Every company in this industry shares this belief at some level.

I think it's bullshit. There's nothing to learn. Make a good game and people will buy it. No one buys minecraft for the resolution.

The fps and texture resolution output are shared by the same resources.  More than likely, there will be a give and take amongst the two not counting other factors while running the game.  Some good games run at 60 fps. Some good games run at 1080p.  Some run at both.  Some don't even run at either and are still great games.  But like what the good Dr. said, it's run by money because these developers have limited time and resources (money) to get games out.  Deal with it.

Call of Duty is not a bad game franchise. Is it derivative and unoriginal? Of course. Is it unfun and unpolished? No. Well, that's actually subjective, but no.

I won't deal with it. It's bullshit. No game can be worse will more framerate. Every game is worse with less. Every game is the same with resolution.

"Expect this norm to continue this generation."

That's bullshit. The PS2, XB, and GCN can keep 60fps the standard, but 8th gen can't? 30fps is not good enough. Ever. Anywhere. Not on Xbox. Not on Playstation. Not on Nintendo.

60fps wasn't standard at all during the 6th gen. ¬_¬

Yes, it was.

I prefer resolution over frame rate as long as its locked to 30fps, i have no problem with that. Only problem i have is that Destiny can push 60fps on PS4.

Well I can't think of any games that look as good as Destiny with 1080p and a consistent 60 fps.

This is probably why Bungie locked it at 30 fps.

It wasn't, especially not in games pushing high quality graphics.

I'm not going to sit here listing all the games that were 60fps. If it wasn't pushing the medium forward with games like Shadow of the Collossis, Wind Waker, and GTA V that pushed the prossessing of the consoles with gameplay, it was 60fps in almost every case.

Here's a few, though:

Fighting Games: Tekken series, Soul Calibur series, Virtua Fighter 4/Evolution

Racing Games: Ridge Racer V, Gran Turismo series, Burnout series, Wipeout Fusion, ATV Offroad Fury, Auto Modelista, Enthusia, Grand Prix Challenge, V-Rally, F-Zero, Mario Kart DD

Action Games: Devil May Cry series, God of War series, Castlevania series, Rygar, Chaos Legion, Zone of Enders series, Onimusha series, Genji, Mark of Kri, Extermination

Shmups: Gradius V, R-Type Final, Silpheed

Platforming Games: Jak series, Ratchet and Clank series, Sly Cooper series, Ape Escape 2+3, Klonoa 2, Rayman 3, Maximo series, Crash Bandicoot series, Transformers Armada, Mega Man X8, I-Ninja, Sonic Advance 1+2, Mario Sunshine, Super Monkey Ball, Klonoa 2

Sports Games: Madden, NCAA, MLB, SSX series, Tony Hawk series, Downhill Domination

Action-Adventure Games: Metal Gear Solid 2, Dual Hearts, Legend of Kay, Kya, Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness, Metroid Prime 1+2, Prince of Persia, 007 series,

RPGs: Star Ocean 3, Valkyrie Profile 2, Radiata Stories, Tales of Abyss/Legendia, Dark Cloud, Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance and Champions of Norrath series

Wasn't Halo 30 fps? Wasn't Halo pretty fun?

343 knows that a First Person Shooter at its finest is 60fps which is why they're moving to that this gen. Plus I thought Bungie wanted to get away from the old Halo comparisons.
