XBO under PS3...

Which happened 6 weeks in a row before the WD boost last week, nothing unusual here.

Around the Network

Nex week i predict 60,000 XBOX ONE in NA.
But less of 100,000 WW... probabily 70,000-80,000...

Pretty much as expected here.

Though it's fair to say everything is terrible. Yes, that includes the PS4 as well. It's doing well relatively but the sales are still pretty weak.

Not sure what's up with the 3DS boost. But, eh. The numbers seem more believable now which is always good.

Early on in the console cycle in June and still selling over 100k is not even remotely weak.

What are you comparing it to?

Probably Wii and not PS3, 360. The sales are really good for PS4 compared to them last gen.

2 consoles considered dead(none dead last gen)

I guess you weren't around in 2006/2007. PS3 was very much dead and people were digging Sony's grave.

See how this is a marthon not a sprint and things can turn around a few years into the generation?

well i knew the ps3 had its problems at the beginning but it got 1st and 3rd party support along with a resonable price cute

wii u has no 3rd party support and is still(for some reason) expensive

People need to stop bringing up the PS3/X360 as some kind of weird justification for the XB1 coming up from behind.  It's a completely different ballgame this time around.  Before, the two consoles were on fairly equal footing...except the PS3 had better hardware and Blu-Ray.  This time around though, the XB1 has a pretty massive deficit in power compared to the PS4, and the public (you know, those people who DON'T read VGC?) KNOWS that it's underpowered!  They also know that Sony has more games in general available RIGHT NOW (most people don't differentiate between "AAA" and "indie", either) and they know that the biggest games are going to be on Sony's box (Destiny, Batman, MGS etc).

Xbox isn't going to magically sneak up on the PS4.  They have to do it with the strength of their exclusive games lineup, and so far, that looks EXCEEDINGLY weak.

Watch dogs still over tracked.

575k [PS4]
362.5k [XBO]
175k [360]
137.5k [PS3]

Won bet with t3mporary_126 - I correctly predicted that the Wii U's LTD at the end of 2014 would be closer to 9 million than 10 million. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6673287

I can agree with this. Don't expect any major changes in Europe.

What the hell is up with XBone numbers? When did the price drop actually take effect?

June 9th, was announced mid may, so I guess some people held off? Sales were gonna be bad either way tho.

Ah makes sense then.  Expecting some big numbers next week.

What are you comparing it to?

The sales of, say, the 360 and the PS3. These systems hovered around the 100k mark in this point in their life. The PS4 is above it, yes, but people who are making it out to be "another PS2" scenario are just not looking at the sales objectively but only relatively.

Maybe "weak" is the wrong word, but as the market leader by some distance it just reflects poorly on the state of the market as a whole. The Xbox One should hopefully change that in the coming weeks and make it look healthier however.

Hopefully that explains some things for you.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

We JUST had some massive mistakes on here yet people are already able to go right back into the routine of believing VGChartz numbers.
