When I got out of college I went to SIGGRAPH and tried to apply at a few gaming companys and they all said the same thing. You need 2 years experience go to EA they'll hire anyone then come back.

I swear thats exactly what they said

I won't buy any game EA makes (and I haven't so far) or publishes or ports

I don't think I've ever disliked a publisher as much as I dislike EA.

Not everyone likes sports games. Not everyone will buy the same game with slight changes every year either.

I remember when they bought bullfrog. And killed bullfrog. And then Maxis... now they haven't killed maxis but they certainly have milked the sims to death now haven't they? And those are just examples off the top of my head.
