I'm talking about CGI that is not part of the game and is made only as a trailer to a game. In-game cinematics are fine. I think I could live with a little CGI alongside gameplay to make the trailer look nice, but nothing like a full on CGI trailer.
This E3 was infested with full CGI trailers during both MS and Sony press conferences. I mean seriously, what exactly is the purpose of these things? They can be rather misleading, but even more so disappointing since they don't show anything about how the game actually looks or plays. I know people are going to say that the devs aren't ready to show gameplay yet, but if you aren't ready to show GAMEplay of your GAME, then you shouldn't be showing your game yet in the first place because evidently it is way too early in the dev cycle.. If you want to showcase the story, use in game character models and/or cutscenes, not CGI trailers.
What do you guys think?
