How come you considered it as a measure of how good people were when it was 5000 - 9999, but not now? What's different besides that the cap has been increased? But getting too many coins in 1st place sounds annoying. It's something I've been reading about before as well. I ordered the game today so I should get to play it soon and try for myself. |
If for example twelve racers with 8000 points each completed a race, more than half of them would get a positive score in Mario Kart 8. It is designed so that anyone who plays the game regularly will gain points unless all opponents have a significantly lower score or if you consistently place between 8-12.
In other words, the score has very little to do with your skill.
