I'd hoped they'd include a gender choice for Link in this, if the character really is meant to be representative of the player. I'm hoping for a more minimalistic narrative anyway, given the emphasis on non-linearity, exploration and (hopefully) dangerous enemies.
i am a bit disappointing by this mainly cause if Link was a female in this game it showed that Aonuma is full on serious when says he how he wants to change the series up but none the less i am still excited for this game

I never doubted it was Link or possibly his (male) offspring.
But I would've appreciated a full blown, main line "Legend of Zelda" game that was about Zelda.
