Like to DS and PSP, the number of modes available will be very limited compared to both people having a copy of the game. Unless they offer some kind of free multi-player app for each game on PSN so you don't need to wait for the other person to download it every time.

The family game sharing on xbox one was nothing like this. It was totally different.

Plus is only a requirement for Multiplayer, Discount, free plus games, and I think cloud saves.
Non of PSN network features need it so its unlikely they will put it behind plus.

DS download play is local only, which is basically the same as playing on a home console with friends as you're all right there, so nothing too special, but this is uber awesome because it's through online! It'd be pretty huge if other games like LittleBigPlanet, CallofDuty, Uncharted, etc. also did this!
