PS2 would only be at 80 million :P

M$ would have sold less without the high failure rate because people had to buy a lot of extra systems because so many failed :)

it would sell a lot more i think. just like carmakers, it takes a long time to build up a good reputation. 360 is just destroying the xbox reputation.

I dont think it has effected the sales too drastically yet, If you want to own 1 system and you want the most decent games, the 360 has no real competition from the PS3 at the moment. As that changes I think more and more 360 owners will jump ship when they machine fails, especially as the big hitters land on the PS3 and cross format stuff is as good, or even better on the PS3.

i th ink it has increased your sales, all thoughs people who went out when it went faulty and bought enougher one, and thoughs who took it back to the shop for a replacement, well some shops count that as a sale, as it went through the till out of stock, if it wasnt for the RRod death i recon 10% wouldnt have been sold

XBox 360 would be way ahead, duh.
Some people have bought two or three XBox 360's to replace their ones that broke.

If the 360 had a quieter fan and no reliability problems, I'd have bought one.

As it is, I'm waiting for the new models, and will see how the PS3's doing before I decide what I want to buy.

Given the loyalty there was for the PS brand, sony fans have really caught onto reliability as a reason to attack the 360.

I definitely would have bought one by now.
As it is, I'm still on the fence.

well there's always a chance, but I think the MONEY microsoft lost could've been well spent on advertising to beat of the ps3 last christmas season.
