As of the Pac-Man reveal, if you count the Miis as three, 35 fighters have been revealed for Smash 4.  This is the same as the total for Brawl.  During the Nintendo Treehouse, it was revelaed that there are still a few characters to be revealed.  How many do you think could we end up with in total?

Better have Mewtwo this time! So hyped that Charizard is his own character. Hope he isn't a Bowser clone this time (also hope they don't cut Bowser out to avoid this).

If you count the Mii's as three characters than I guess there'll be 42 characters; that's 40 if you count Mii as one.

I think that all Brawl characters will obviously be returning, except for Snake, Falco, Wolf, and the two other Pokemon Trainer monsters. That means Captain Falcon, Mr. Game & Watch, ROB, Meta Knight, and Ice Climbers will all be back. As well as probably Jiggly Puff, simply because the damn thing has been in every game so far.

So add them to whatever last minute new characters there might still be, and yes, I think the roster could top 40.
