No we don't
This is the Game of Thrones
Where you either win
or you DIE
No, they laid off some people. not the whole team. and some of them were re-hired by RAD (who's working with Santa Monica..)
Anyway, one last thing before lock or whatever: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-06-11-its-time-for-your-latest-update-on-the-last-guardian?utm_source=eurogamer&utm_medium=in-article-promo&utm_campaign=What%27s+the+latest+from+E3+about+The+Last+Guardian%3F
As to what's actually happening with The Last Guardian, which is widely believed to have shifted platform to PlayStation 4, the situation remains much as it was at Gamescom last year. "It's the same message!" Yoshida said with a smile.
"Lots of people tweeted me they were heartbroken by that news [prior to the show]. People are going through this roller coaster of emotions, and it's our fault for not releasing the game, yet. We owe a lot to those people, but we really don't want to release piecemeal information until we can say this is The Last Guardian - so we ask you to wait."

Easy on these kind of statements. I'm sure you're a nice guy, but the interewebs is now full of people that are "disgusted", "devastated", "utterly disappointed", et al. with Sony's conference because of making a multitude of statements in this vein and then religiously accepting them.
;)
At this point, I think Sony is simply refusing to call it canceled to convince a few extra people to buy PS4's for the game.

a pause or gap in a sequence, series, or process.
"there was a brief hiatus in the war with France"
so yh, I agree with Tretton but that also means that the Yoshida wasn't lying either. It will come eventually, or not they would have just said over numerous occasions that it was canned....

honestly if its not this year i dont think any one will care if it is announced next year.. or it is made a small PSN title like "Remember Me"

And then, if they don't show it at Gamescom, TGS or VGX we'll just start repeating next-year again just before E3 XD. That's how it will go unless they show or cancel the game.

Anyone, any living soul... that buys a PS4 for a game announced 7yrs ago for a PS3 that never came, and for a game that besides its reveal trailer no one has ever seen anything about it again since then..... is quite literally, a Fool.
And I sincerely doubt sony is expecting that anyone is buying their PS4 to play the last guardian now I also doubt anyone alive is stupid enough to buy the PS4 today primarily cause they expect the last guardian to be announced and released sometime soon.
If they wanted people to buy PS4s for TLG they'd say it's coming for PS4. They haven't even said that.
