I was gunna buy the 360 version for the extra content, but i forgot how much I hate the damn controller, lol. So maybe no DLC for me, but hell I only ever play GTA to blow sh*t up anyways, and as massive as its gunna be I dont need those extra missions.

Fans looking to own the "complete" Grand Theft Auto IV experience will also have to own an Xbox 360. So says Rockstar Games spokesman Hosi Simon anyway, in a short interview posted over at Games Radar that has the entire Internet talking.

Upon being asked whether there were any discernible advantages for PS3 owners that could compare to the Xbox 360 downloadable content, Simon replied "not that I can think of."

"They're identical games. We're not hardware makers, and we're not like a pawn between these companies, we try not to be as much as we can. We make great games for people to enjoy on whichever system they want. But I guess if you want the complete experience with the episodes, then yeah, you should buy the 360, I suppose."

Already posted on the last page.

Doesn't really matter. I have never completed a Grand Theft Auto game before anyway, and I've owned every single one. The whole point of the game is the exploration and finding out everything about it. The story, as usual will be a thinly veiled attempt to get you to press on. And most people will stop playing the story once they get to the point of unlocking all of the places in the game, then just explore until their hearts content. But again, that doesn't matter either, because I'd rather miss out on some 'episodic content' (that we still don't know what is) and not worry about not being able to compelte my game because MY SYSTEM IS MADE FROM CRAP.

Question is... what happens if the episodic content = new areas.

Seems like if you have a 360 and PS3 you'd be kinda stupid to get the PS3 version.

If there are new areas, then that'd need to be decided, but we don't know what the content is.

Which is the point.  If you don't know... are you going to pick up the PS3 version knowing that there is a chance for more locations on 360?

I mean why would you if there was really no difference other then that... and the questionable 360 hardware... which you already own.

The hardware is why I don't want to get it on 360.  I'll have a PS3 in a few months, and I plan on buying most of my multi-plats on there, since you never know when your 360 may RRoD.  The episodic content, if missions, wouldn't sway me either way, but if it is a new area, I'd have to see how much they charge, and how big it is, before I decided whether to buy it on 360 or not.

Not going to buy this game unless it contains Hot Coffee Mod

doesnt sound convincing at all. If he was sure he would have said:

"But if you want the complete GTAIV experience with the episodes you should buy the 360"

I know I may be reading too much into this, but he sounds like me when I'm talking about something im unsure of.
That is a very obvious rookie mistake for a Spokesperson to make. He should sound decisive and sound like he knows what he is talking about.

personally I would pick up the  ps3 special edition.
Im digging the bag and the safety deposit box.

Yes, but he is a Rockstar spokesman, not a Microsoft spokesman.  He did not make a mistake, he's trying not to be backed into the corner of making it sound like the 360 version is better.  He does not want to deter people from buying the PS3 version, his hesitance was intentional.  I don't think this DLC will be anything too major.   He said the games are identical, not including the extra stuff you have to buy.  Everyone's making this a big deal, this DLC is only gonna be some extra missions that in the long run won't be that much of a deal.

He WANTED to sound like that, because he does not want to give the false impression that the 360 version is better in some way, when the only real difference is gonna be a couple of random missions that you can play AFTER you pay, and probably not much more.

that is actually one of the reasons why I posted my comment.
some people are believing that the add-ons are similar to GTA: VC and GTA:SA
I pointed out that the spokeperson doesnt sound convincing at all, so it should either mean that:

1. The add-ons arent going to be as great as people would like to believe
or
2. The spokesperson sucks in doing his job.

For 50 mil I would expect the latter.

I have both consoles but I'll be picking up the ps3 version. If the downloadable content is worthwhile, I'll pick up 360 version at a later date for cheap.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand why you would do this, raterdrsuperstar. Unless you're doing so simply to support the PS3, why would you pay for a copy of a game that you already have?

I loved playing Bully on my PS2; I'm not going to buy the Scholarship Edition for my Wii or 360. I thought the PC version of The Godfather was awesome; I ain't gonna pay for the Wii of 360 versions of the game.

I hate the xbox 360 controller. And I refuse to pay for xbox live gold to play multiplayer. But if the downloadable content is worthwhile, I still want to play it. And like I said, I'm not gonna pay 60 bucks over again. I'd wait for a price drop or sale. Cause I doubt the downloadable content will be out anytime soon, I can wait.
