You obviously skipped over the rest of my post where I stated the rankings do NOT indicate, track or measure overall sales. It ranks items by popularity in sales on an hourly basis and is a good metric in that regard.
In real life the the white PS4 bundle is more popular in terms of the rate of sales over the original PS4. Does not mean it has actually sold more units. How could it have? It was just listed.

You mean the part where you stated "Amazon sales ... are a good measurement of sales popularity"?
No, I read it. I just assumed it was not a complete non sequitir, and therefore rationally related to the discussion as a whole. Which is the usefulness of Amazon as a barometer of sales. It appears I was mistaken?

Or perhaps I was the one mistaken? I assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that you had completely disregarded the majority of my posting to relay the message that the rankings have no relationship to overall sales. Or perhaps you were conveying that rankings actually can be an acurrate barometer for future, overall sales figures? I couldn't tell from the wrding of your post.
Either way, I have no input on the correlation between the two and I was simply explaining that the rankings can and do a very good job at tracking sales trends within an hourly time frame (and some would say they actually measure better over several hours as there can be lag times of 2-3 hours between sales and their impact on the rankings) and therefore should not be sumarily dismissed.
