Or perhaps I was the one mistaken? I assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that you had completely disregarded the majority of my posting to relay the message that the rankings have no relationship to overall sales. Or perhaps you were conveying that rankings actually can be an acurrate barometer for future, overall sales figures? I couldn't tell from the wrding of your post.
Either way, I have no input on the correlation between the two and I was simply explaining that the rankings can and do a very good job at tracking sales trends within an hourly time frame (and some would say they actually measure better over several hours as there can be lag times of 2-3 hours between sales and their impact on the rankings) and therefore should not be sumarily dismissed.
