Maybe it's because other developers aren't Naughty Dog?
It's not easy optimizing a game and using all available tricks to squeeze out the last bit of performance. Most studios aren't able to do so.

The fact that most multiplats look and run better on PS4 should actually answer your question that nobody is gimping anything.

Complete parity will make the playstation fans angry and will lead to boycotts.

A huge graphics gap will make Xbone owners angry and will lead t oboycotts.

The only way to win is to make the game with a marginal graphics edge on the PS4. Microsoft and its fans must leave the gaming industry for the benefit of all.

No to both since we already hat that.

The gap is about 50% between X1 and PS4. That sounds much but 720p to 1080p would be a 100% increase as would be 30 to 60 fps. So you won't ever see giant gaps. If there is parity that means both games are at peak 1080p60. If both are 1080p30 then PS4 will likely have the more stable framerate but it was not powerful enough to reach 60.

Going from 30 to 60 fps demands 100% more performance, but doubling the pixel count won't demand such an increase because pixels are only used in some stages when rendering, so it could actually allow something like that with only 50% more raw power. Despite that, the gap is currently exaggerated simply because the X1 SDK doesn't look as mature as the PS4 one yet.

That is compensated by the manhours spent coding for the Xbone compared to the PS4 version.

That is why Xbone owners shouldn't expect to see any graphics jump. A decrease in working hours spent on coding for Xbone will only lead to programmers being fired.

I don't see how when some of the bigger multiplat games already push a higher resolution on PS4.

when you have games like Forza and Halo on XB1 targetting 60fps/1080, and games like Driveclub on PS4 targetting 30fps, you'll realise not all games, not all devs ect are the same.

Using Naughty Dog (who are incredibly talented) as a bench mark for everyone else is silly.

Not only that but it's completely unproven anyway.

there are a million other factors than fps and resolution that go into a game looking/performing well.  Hell GT5 ran at 1080p 60fps on Ps3.  The best barometer is a multiplat as far as these raw numbers go.  A developer makes those games with all those variables and extras being equal then adjusts the resolution as far as the machine can handle and of course the framerate will be more stable on a better machine.  So when we see multiplats of the same game running higher resolution and more stabily on PS4 we know that things are different.  Driveclub could have more lighting to deal with or more dynamic weather or textures or draw distance.  Hell even shadows can make a big difference in FPS (trust me Diablo 3 wouldn't run right until I took them away).

There's a clear difference in difficulty in solving 2 + 2 and proving that the product topology X x X - {(a, a) | a in X} is a Hausdorff space.

Coding for the PS4 is like the former while coding for the PS3 is like the latter. Any dev should be able to do what ND is doing with the PS4.

I think you should learn a thing or two about game development.

This should be the obvious answer to everyone. Naughty Dog are Naughty Dog, they exist outside the realm of mortal developers.

ND is also the home of the ICE team. I imagine that gives them quite the edge over everyone else.

wasnt the uncharted trailer CG ? do you think the gameplay will be like thatXD

It wasn't CG. Don't worry, that reaction is common to ND stuff.

insiderp is banned from my eyes. They're sony biased!

I assume you mean that devs make different choices? Because otherwise comparing DC and F5 is pretty silly. There are rather obvious visual/tech reasons for their different frame rates :p

Naughty Dog has been doing this since PS3. Do you not expect them to be awesome for PS4? Cross platform games and bad optimization hold back 8th gen. Not Xbox One. Also, whoever runs insiderp is an idiot. Parity Clause is for release dates of indies, not the graphics, res and fps of AAA multiplats.
