I was listening carefully and still didn't really understand what it will do to Smash because i'm really terrified that it's going to ruin it with unfair advantages.

Peripherals that would get downplayed/hatted by everybody if it were a Sony or Ms initiative but since its Nintendo ppl will say its awesome, inovative and in no way intended to be a cash grab.

As far as I know Amiibo is something like Skylanders.
It's a digital character that can be summoned by using the toy.
As said in the E3 presentation you will be able to unlock the characters at Super Smash Bros. U as plain characters but you can also play with your Amiibo character. When you play that last one you can level up etc. Get skills and ofcourse costumize Mii Character.

If Nintendo does this right with online and will put people with a lvl 50 character against someone of the same level I don't have any problems with that.

Also it would be soooooooooooooooooo cool to have Pikachu racing against Mario in Mario Kart 8.

i also don't get it..

...if you can download and upload data that would mean your character would have to have some customization that is different that the "on the disc" version. i don't see how this goes down well. if it doesn't affect gameplay what's the point? if it does affect gameplay you're now at a disadvantage if you don't buy toys.

i hope i'm missing something.
