Forums - Sony - EDGE: Great daring and diversite seal another Sony win

You watched with an avid Sony fan who was disappointed.  No disrespect buy an "avid sony fan" implies "fanboy" no fanboy would be disappointed by anything their prefered company does.  So he may be a sony fan but he is not avid.  Sony disappoints me at times but I would not say I am avid, because if I was they wouldn't be able to disappoint me.

Around here on this site is proof avid fans can not be deterred.

That's you. He's an avid Sony fan. I don't believe in the word "fanboy," because it's a childish derogetory term that sets gaming back and no self respecting person should be using it to describe another. Even so, he isn't that. He openly criticizes Sony, but Sony is by far his favorite company. He doesn't blindly take what they give him if it's lame. Avid fan.

This site does not in any way reflect how real life people act. He's not a forum dweller who uses the word "fanboy." He's a normal person who plays video games and has preferences.

Microsoft lost because they only showed games? I laughed

Are you trying to be this obtuse? Showing games wasnlt the issue, showing mainly multi-plats, trailers and non impactfull games was an issue. Do you really thing pahtom dust remake, and crackdown come clsoe to uncharted, Bloodborne? Sony had a mroe diverse portfolio with a lot more attention of exclsuive content, and gameplay. Sonys was a more imopressive showing, all the more impressive considering many of there studios still have to be announced.

Sorry:

Why not? As much as I know is that Crackdown was an Ip which sold some million units. Why is that not as important as Bloodborn? I think we should look at the sales numbers of games from known IPs and Halo isn't smaller as Uncharted, Crackdown isn't smaller as Demon's Souls and Fable isn't smaller as LBP...Forza is also not an unimportant game and if games like The Order are really more imporant or better as games like Sunset Overdrive has to be seen. To me it looks pretty close if we compare all these games right now.

We still have to wait for Nintendo to get an "official" winner.

I am guessing they will all have websites claiming they won. The majority will be Sony, a few will be Nintendo, and Polygon will be Microsoft.

Well, who has won it will in the end be determined in monthly NPD reports. And based on the content shown at both presentations, it is hard to believe that XOne has a chance to win a single month in the next 12. The closest will be in November, but I'm afraid that all Halo fans already bought the console for Titanfall.

You think i only mean your comments about the conference? lol i meant your entire history on the site and your comments in every Sony topic. You are welcome to your views, as everyone is to his/hers. but don't try to pass them off as neutral. Because they're far from that. It's like me commenting in every MS topic how boring i find them, serves no purpose except the one.

Please find me just one instance when I've ever said that Sony games are bad. Just one. I'll wait. You apparently have hundreds. When you don't, I'll then find you 100 examples of me criticizing Nintendo and their games.

I like games from every company and I criticize games from every company. I'm as neutral as it gets. Having a preference doesn't sway that. If it did, I'd be swooning over the Sony conference right now.

sry this guy loses all cred when he says things like this

before 343 Industries took to the stage to talk about the new Halo compilation due at the end of the year, the announcement of which perhaps wasn’t as well received as Microsoft thought it would be. It’s a formidable package, certainly, which includes Halos 1-4, beta access to the multiplayer portion of Halo 5 and the Ridley Scott-produced live action series Halo Nightfall. Halo 5 was what the crowd really wanted, though, not a ‘greatest hits’ compilation – it was telling that Microsoft considered one of the key points of interest to be that Halo 2’s multiplayer would return “exactly as it shipped ten years ago”. A few people in the crowd still felt that this repurposing of a decade-old game mode was worthy of a whoop, though.

You want me to through every post you make to show you this? Either you're acting oblivious or you have no idea how many times you show your disinterest. You remember how every god of war thread you post how much better beyonetta is, even though the topic is not asking about a comparison?

actually, it's been admitted by several MS fans that Crackdown got its sales by piggybacking off the Halo 3 beta. Not saying it wasn't a good game, but looking at Crackdown 2, the series declined. It could come back strong with 3, but it ain't apples to apples with Bloodborne. That franchise (can I call it a franchise?) of Demons' Souls/Dark Souls has only expanded it's audience since its inception. Demons' Souls actually statistically matched Crackdown in sales, without any kind of incentive the magnitude of a Halo 3 beta, and any kind of mainstream recognition from the developer (their best game prior was what? Armored Core?)

Regarding Halo, unless the XBone's sales pick up, Uncharted could end up being a more important title. You can't sell 9-10M Halo Collections or Halo 5s when there aren't that many people with XBones. Unless you're expecting a near 100% attach ratio when the XBone eventually sells that much (which won't be for a while at this rate. Speculation, though, since we have yet to see the effect of the price drop). Whereas, at the pace the PS4 is going and the popularity that Uncharted has garnered, I could see it easily pushing 8M+.

Lastly, you're right, Fable isn't smaller than LBP. But the thing is, we already knew about Fable. LBP3 was a surprise announcement. That's why it had more impact (despite the incredibly shitty people who demo'd it). And again, you're right, Horizon isn't an unimportant title, but again, we already knew about it, as did we already know about Sunset Overdrive and The Order. I don't think showing off games we already saw last year and have been reading up on since helped either conference, in terms of which one was "better".

You're joking. Only one God of War thread where literally the only reason I posted in it in the first place was to voice my excitement for the game. God of War 4 being the game I wanted to be revealed the most at the conference. You're joking.

You made it sound like you had so many examples, and you come up with a none example of me loving two franchises, but slightly preferring one third party franchise that I played on a PS3 over a separate first party franchise, and only voicing that opinion in the first place after being prodded about it. Please. Just one thing. No, I'll make it easier for you. Just that one. That's you're example? Fine. Please quote one instance in that example where I sounded at all anti Sony, or like I didn't absolutely love the God of War franchise. I'll wait.
