Forums - Sales - Xbox 360 Sales at 84 Million!

http://www.gamespot.com/articles/e3-2014-399-xbox-one-out-now-xbox-360-sales-rise-to-84-million/1100-6420231/

"[...]Microsoft also announced today that Xbox 360 sales have risen to 84 million units sold (up from 80 million units), with lifetime game sales for the platform now hitting $37.7 billion. Lastly, Microsoft says that Xbox 360 gamers have now logged more than 88 billion hours of gameplay, which is equivalent to more than 100,000 centuries."

Great numbers by MS! The 360 is still a beast and still fighting a good fight, even at its age!

Wonder when vgchartz will finally update the numbers accordingly...

Nice. That would mean that the PS3 would be about 86/87M.

Shipped or sold?

Because the PS3 is ahead of the 360, obviously.

Doesn't PS3 sell a lot more than the X360?

If both could reach above 90 millions it's great I think, but I doubt. Still 84 millions X360 is really good so far in my book, and this makes me wonder how many PS3 that has been sold.

Microsoft uses shipment numbers as sold. So if we go by that standard, PS3 also needs adjustments which probably will have somewhere around 86+.

Actually we could speculate that since Sony didn't announce ps3 numbers yesterday, they are behind MS shipping numbers

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Again, other wording: based on what? On VGC numbers which were obviously wrong until today?

I don't know... Do they ever provide actual numbers or do they only use "x million playstations were sold" including every playstation to hide seperate numbers?
