This is interesting, Insomniac remasting the Original game on the PS2. The game has already been remastered for PS3 and Vita, this though seems like a reboot.

With the Movie and this potential reboot this could bring R&C back to it's glory days.

How can it be a reboot if they specifically say remaster?

Wording on ps blog seems more like a remake. New gameplay sequences and part of it is "changed" to accompany the movie.

I thought they were finding a new studio?

If they market it right then it could really help revive the franchise. It legit looks like a Pixar/Dreamworks movie and kids flock to those movies.

Sounds like a reboot to me.

Also the biggest stealth announcement from Sony.

That's what I was thinking. 

I think it will be a Remake (like Nintendo did with Zelda on Wii U)

A game that really needed this treatment is Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy as the gameplay is kinda dated and would really benefit of a remake!

I was going to buy the remasters for the Vita but I think I will hold off now.

yeah the way they worded it it sounded like a full on remake.  Kind of a Halo anniversary situation or RE remake (though not that drastic so Halo is more applicable).
