Does anyone of you agree with me on this? Seriousily. The word "Beta" seems to be used to lurk players nowadays. Sometimes they come out so close before the release of a game that they don't even seem useful for development. Sometimes they're even just like demo's. (for example BF4) And this E3 seems to be full of games that get a beta on consoles. It's getting too normal to play a game before it's ready now, appearantly.

Around the Network

Like tons of aspects of daily life becoming outrageously dependent on internet capabilities, it is hitting the video game industry just as heavily. Why bother finishing a game when consumers have shown they will provide you full retail price months in advance, and hope you are able to day 1 or later patch and fix it.  Tons of people will even pay you more up to double retail price for things like season passes and premium memberships, without ever even playing your game.

Huh? I thought they were gaining value. Because unlike with demos, people will be much more forgiving of bugs and glitches while also doubling as free staff to iron out a few kinks.

Oh, you mean they are losing value for gamers, not the publishers.

Both, actually. Coming back to BF4, I don't see how the BF4 beta really helped much. It was just a fraction of the game..

Another beta. Halo this time. Pfft. I won't argue too much about this one since there's not much to say about it yet.

Battlefield Hardline Beta.. I'm telling you, this is pathetic.
