"Best _____ Ever", in any context, in any fandom, in any debate, is ALWAYS 100% subjective. Always.

So with that said, no, I do no think the PS2 is the best console ever released. Why? Because I think that's the NES, for my own myriad of reasons. The PS2 was a fantastic console with some great games. No denying that. But I don't personally think it's the "best ever", no.

I like how people claim it was the best console of all time when most people on here haven't played every single console there's been or no every single game that's been on consoles they haven't played, it maybe your favourite console doesn't make it the best, it was a good console but the most overrated console of all time, PS2 turned me off Gaming, and I nearly replaced it with a Gamecube, Nintendo brought me something I wasn't having with the PS2, FUN, Gamecube reminded me what gaming is supposed to be about.

i think ps2 was my tied for second favourite. Tied with original xbox, it had great gems that no one knew about and were absolutely fun, also fable 1 is my 2nd favourite game ever. Ps1 takes tops for me as i still play it now and has my favourite game: Azure dreams.

What I am saying is nothing new at all, I just didnt care enough to start digging and look for samples of the data till now since you seem to be taking this the wrong way. If you want i dig a bot more and find the date related to the PSX and N64. I just know for a fact that nintendo has always sold more to younger audiences since its till this day regarded as the family console.

PlayStation 2 have a good catalog, but I think there are several consoles better. My favourite console of all time is SEGA MegaDrive (Genesis in USA). Second is Super Nintendo. Later comes SEGA Saturn, PlayStation (first one) and Dreamcast.
