Forums - Gaming - MK8 WILL keep Wii U at the top of charts for a long time

Do you guys remember WindWaker HD, and when that came out how the sales were higher than usual? Yeah, Wii U didn't fall low again, until 2014 thanks to the help of 3D World's release and the holiday season. We all know that the bundle is available until July 31st, so I think that people will keep buying until then. If Hyrule Warriors comes out early August, it will help sales remain high until the next title. Maybe Sonic Boom will help a bit too, but next will be Bayonetta 2 in September probably. If X is released October, Smash Bros November and the holiday season rolls in along with maybe Yarn Yoshi in December or Shin Megami (I'm guessing one of those 2 will come out in December) the sales should remain high. Nintendo hopefully has planned their games out like this for maximum success.

It's still just a prediction in that case. But I must say that the release date of MK8 could be in Nintendo's favour if they end up spreading their games well enough. I don't expect the Wii U to stay this high all the time though. We'll see more than enough drops.

I assume that the OP means that the Wii U will stay near the top, but yeah.

Its not at the top of the charts and I will give you a counter argument and say the Wii U is going to drop like a rock in the coming weeks.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

Maybe, arghhh we will see in june

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Think you're being a little optimistic here.

Not only is it not yet at the top of the charts (so how can it stay there?), but also it'll fall below PS4 levels very shortly anyway.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

The Wii U situation is going to depend on what gets announced in the following weeks. If enough games or the right game gets announced we may see the Wii U sell very good and keep that second place but as of now it's a waiting game.

I think the Wii U will not drop below the 50,000 ever, and have one a constancy of 70,000-80,000...
For me the week with X sold more of 100,000.
The Week of Bayonetta 2 sold more of 120,000.
The week with Hyrule Warriors sold in Japan more of 30,000 (in USA and Eu dont have boost).
And on November Wii U will sell always more of 100,000, in December minimum 200,000, and the week bwfore chrismas 500,000.
Good number.

Actually, Wii U dropped off right before Wii Party U released in Japan.

2 weeks before Wind Waker (Sep 17): 20,186
1 week before Wind Waker (Sep 21): 33,238
Japan release (Sep 28): 42,198
USA/Europe release (Oct 5): 74,524
Week Ending October 12th: 46,392
Week Ending October 19th: 34,616
Week Ending October 26th: 30,737
