It has a better artstyle, graphics, artstyle and according to some of you better gameplay. 3DWorld whish to have at least half of the artstyle brilliance of SMG." |
I don't get. What has WW on NGC has to do with 3DWorld on Wii U?

To be fair, a month ago isn't exactly a long time lol

It's not just Pav, I've seen similar sentiments expressed multiple times recently. I think it stems from the misbelief that Nintendo's Wii era of software development consisted mainly of Wii Music and NSMB. People don't typically associate the Wii with its best games, which is a damn shame.
Considering how last year's one-two-three punch of Pikmin 3, W101, and Wind Waker HD did next to nothing for Wii U hardware, I think you could make a more compelling case that people don't want GameCube games in HD, but do in fact want Wii games in HD.

I don't necasserily disagree with you but to be fair, those three games do not in anyway attract the hardcore gamer, the hardcore Nintendo gamer yes but what about the rest of the market. If that were a new Zelda, maybe it would have done something for the Wii U but a remake of a game that you can just play on your Gamecube is no reason to go out and buy a Wii U. As for Super Mario 3D World, it was just bad timing in my opinion. Why Nintendo chose to release it around the time the Xbox One and PS4 were coming out is beyond me.
Mario Kart 8 showed up at the right time, a time where good games are very hard to find. That's why so many people bought it and why Watch Dogs was so successful. Nintendo needs to be a little smarter about when they release their games in my opinion.

Nothing compares sales wise or in terms of audience outreach; not smash bros, not zelda, nothing with wii in its title The system has a solid line up ahead and a smash bros+Mario Kart bundle will do wonders this holiday. I can see it selling on par with Xbox One till the end of the year. |
I think most people see Mario Kart for what it is, a game that score huge on top of the Wii tidal wave. Of those 35m people that bought MK Wii, I will be surprise if 85% came back for MK8 on the Wii U. They were casuals that bought it because it was cool at the time. They are not coming back.
Of the 11m that bought SSBB on the Wii, I expect at least 40%+ to come back. Whereas Mario Kart is a casuals game, SSB is a Nintendo fans and "hardcore" gamer's game. Reading gaming forums it is not MK that many xbox and PS gamers would buy a Wii u for, it is SSB.
The casual Wii era is over and MK won that. This is now the Wii U era and I predict SSB to win this time around or at the very least equal MK.
Lets wait and see.

is not. But Wii U didn't need MK8 to be above Vita

Super Smash also has a cult following due to the fact that it is very popular in the cometitive gaming scene, something that is only getting bigger and bigger. So it has that in it's corner as well. Like I've said, Nintendo needs to get more of these MP games out because that is where the gaming market is at right now.
