Ryse is a piss poor attempt at being a god of war game, set in Rome.

That argument would have some validity if it played anything like God of War.

Its more like a QD game with better combat.

It doesn't play like GOW because crytek screwed up, not because they were going for some deep story based experience and they still failed if they were because they story is only average. There is a big difference between a game having a different focus and a game being badly made. Ryse is the latter.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Yeah i dont think heavy rain and beyond missed criticism in the least.

I do agree that Ryse is a very fun and great looking game and was better than most reviews put it.

Beyond: Two Souls was marketed for its story and graphics and yet reviewers bitchstomped the game.

It's not about be biased.Sometimes the game is not well accepted

For most people/reviewers, Ryse was the typical crytek game: mediocre but very pretty!(THAT 60%)

Dont bother with him DonFerrari, complex storys get labeled as bad by lots of pplz in a hearthbeat cause theyre not easy to grasp and most gamers/movie are just too lazy to put some effort into understanding the story.

How's the air up on that high horse?

Its a fact that most ppl dont realy like putting much effort into understanding storys that arent told to them very clear cut. You get ppl everytime saying Inception is a terible movie cause the story is a mess, or the Last of Us makes no sense cause theres almost no exposition on the storytelling or that American Hustle was a terrible movie cause the sotry was convoluted.

Possibly, but saying that the story was too hard to understand or complex for him and he thus doesn't like it, is assuming quite alot and also making Beyond into more than it actually is. It is perfectly understandable if someone didn't like the story very much and that does not necessarily have anything to do with it being too complex or whatever.

I find the story of Beyond very easy to follow  and not very complex either and I just also find the story to not be very good.

I dindt say it was too hard for him to understand, I said ppl (I never once directly mentioned him) dont liek to put an effort into understanding complex storys, and thats has nothign to do with the capacity to understand it, its just laziness. And he said his first ever contact to the story was trough a video of someone bashing the story, thats bound to make you think the story sucks.

If your goal was to come across as closed-minded, you've succeeded with flying colors.

The whole "this product is different from what I enjoy/am used to, therefore it shouldn't be allowed to exist" line of thinking is incredibly childish. If you have a problem with other people being offered the oppertunity to enjoy something because you don't enjoy it, there is something wrong with you.

Is it lonely up there on your high horse?

High horse? You're the one thinking you should be able to determine what games people should be allowed to play lol.

Oh the irony.

He's expressing an opinion that games trying to be movies end up being mediocre games and mediocre movies. You're telling him that he's closed-minded for daring to express such an opinion. And by doing so, you're actually demonstrating your own closed-mindedness.

If you have a problem with other people having an opinion different to your own, there is something wrong with you.

No, he said they deserve to be bashed, not that he doesn't enjoy them. One is an opinion, the other is a declaration against other peoples' opinions. How you came to the conclusion that my defense of people having an opinion was actually an effort to bash people having an opinion is beyond me.

I'm not sure whether you misunderstood his post or are willfully misinterpreting it for the sake of argument, but either way it's abundantly clear that trying to have a conversation with you is going to be futile.

i love it when people defend ryse, it just shows how far people are willing to go to defend a crappy game just because its exclusive.

I bet the history must really suck for you to keep watching it for 6h in a masochist way.

It was Super Best Friends Play so it was pretty hilarious to watch them making jokes and talking about game design. If it was simply a commentary-less playthrough I probably wouldn't have gotten through 15minutes...

Well I liked the story and game in general. Most games if don't hook me in 15-30min go to the forgotten cabinet. And if you can watch it for 6h and laugh it have good enough entretainment value. Could you watch 6h of SM3DW or Mk8?
