Hey, everyone. Its been pretty long since I posted but I am looking to start a new series of posts of reviews. This is my first review so feel free to read it all and it is very much appreciated. Before I start I grade games on Single Player, Multiplayer(If available) and extras. I then rate the game by Gameplay (includes mechanics and controls) Graphics (I have to throw this in because it is a factor) Fun Factor and Lasting appeal.

I got Mario Kart 8 and started with the grand prix. The one thing I needed to get used to was the power sliding but I got it after a while. At first I felt awkward accelerating with the A button but I got over it after my first 2 races. The controls felt good and the mechanics were great. The items felt well balanced and the AI was much smarter than on Wii. I had a lot of fun driving on walls and soaring through the air. The anti gravity was a game changer as I found many shortcuts and speed boosts. Gameplay ran smooth although at the mediocre 59 FPS (sarcasm). The fast pace gameplay was so intense that I could barely talk while playing.

I played online multiplayer and it was awesome. I loved the fact that they give you limited tracks to choose from in each match because it mixes it up. I had no connections issues and there were no stutters. Again items were balanced out great. I was surprised to see myself connect to races so quickly. 

Extras

Although people complain about the baby characters and koopalings, I felt that there was a great variety of charcters to choose from. I saw myself trying many kart combonations to find the one that best fits me which was great. Now for the battle mode. A lot of people were complaining about it only being tracks and not arenas. I felt that tracks were better for the reason that it made the game faster and that I will always find my self going head to head with an opponent.

Mario Kart 8 is probably the best Kart game Ive played in a long while. So far I have always found myself craving to play more!

I just got it yesterday and have not played a whole lot of it yet, but i will say a few things.

I definitely don't like the baby characters or the metal ones, but I do like the koopalings.
Battle mode is definitely a let down and deeply saddens me. I dont think it makes the game faster as opposed to slowing down the usual hectic pace to a stand still.
I tried one online race and it dc'ed when I was first......

Polished controls and gameplay is a plus.
And it has a really nice loading time to get to the start menu (I hate when i have to sit through the pre game credits every time I turn a game on).

Nice concise review, but I disagree with the score, I would give it about an 8. Maybe I just need to try it more.

Agreed, one of the best looking games by far.

Hahahaha! I did not wanted to be one of those people that give it like a 9.1244537. I wanted to keep it simple so i rounded up to 10.

Nothing was off in my opinion. It is debatable obviously.

To be fair, he could be rounding it up on halves. It is a 98%, after all.

Eh. 10/10?  From the looks of it, the battle mode could definitely be improved!
