Forums - Gaming - Time for me to get a 360... what model do I get?

All the new models should have HDMI, Falcon chipsets, and all the other little goodies.

Arcade: Great for Casuals comes with arcade disk with 5 classics on them (fun for like...an hour) a 256M memory unit, the controller, everything you need to plug it in and play.

Premium: Great value, 20 gig hard drive, 2 (decent) games

Elite: (What i have) Great system, looks nice, 120 gig hard drive is always good for your media needs, i'm pretty sure it comes with two games, you get the HDMI cable with it, and its Black.

It's all upto you bud, all depends on what your after, i hope this helps.

What a week seeing the announcement of Gears of War2 and now having seen this amazing game, Ninja Gaiden 2. This game looks so much better than DMC4, love the multi-hit combos, fast combat, lots of blood.

Whichever model you get, you are looking for the most recent motherboard design which has a smaller CPU and a *slightly* smaller GPU. Someone took one apart and showed the the GPU was shrunk, but probably just a die rev to an interim 80nm size.

Regardless, the latest motheroboards use a 175Watt power supply instead of the 203W. Find one that specifies 175W on the rear of the box and you'll know you have the latest hardware. Your likeliness of failure with that unit is (anecdotally) quite small. Also note that if yours DOES fail, they will have to send you back a 175W model as they don't usually ask for the power supply...

Good luck, and man, are you in for some great games... Right out of the gate I would get Gears, Bioshock, Mass Effect, COD4, etc... Game on...

Shams,

You're Australian right?
I dunno if it would make a difference to you, but a few places have the 360 pro for $500 now.

Yeah JB Hi-fi is currently listing the Pro for $498. Although it's listed, there is a shortage around me. I can't find a single pro in a JB, EB or Game.
