Sometimes I wonder about the state of gaming in the UK. Right now, there's a game called Frozen: Olaf's Quest on the UK charts. Obviously it's movie game shovelware. Just to put things in perspective, here are some of the things it is outselling in the UK this week, it's 28th week on the market:
1. The entirety of the rest of the DS library, including Pokemon Black/White 2.
2. The entirety of the Wii U library.
3. The entirety of the Vita library.
4. The entirety of the PSP library.
5. The entirety of the Wii library, except for Just Dance 2014.
6. The entirety of the 3DS library, except for Animal Crossing, Kirby, Pokemon, and Mario Golf.
7. The entirety of the XBO library, except for Wolfenstine, Titanfall, Foza, FIFA, and COD.
8. Everything available for PC at retailers, except Wolfenstine, The Sims 3, Football Manager, Diablo 3, and Elder Scrolls Online.
9. All but 9 PS4 games
10. All but 7 PS3 games
11. Disney Infinity. Yes, one Disney platformer with a side character is outselling all Disney IP's combined into one game.
I know, I know, it's probably in the bargain bin and that's why it's selling, but why does this always happen in the UK? Seriously, Aliens Colonial Marines did this too, but you don't see this crap happening in the US, Japan, Germany, France, or Europe as a whole. Why is it that when some of the crappiest shovelware out there gets put in the bargain bin in the UK, it charts and outsells thousands of actually good games, but when the same game is put in the bargin bin in other countries, we don't see it chart? It just really bothers me. It just seems like the UK likes bargain bin games more than any other country in the world. There are tons of respectable UK gamers that use this site, but the country as a whole seems infested with filthy casuals! How else could shit like this outsell entire libraries when it fails to do so anywhere else in the world? UK is Casual Island confirmed?
