... which makes him the worst Nintendo hater ever!

So I ordered the MK bunduru at amazon but apparently amazon nowadays shits on release dates and decided to send it to me tomorrow instead to the release of MK as promised. No worries I thought, don't have time today anyway. But what I still needed was a copy of SM3DW. So I went to a local Mediamarkt on my way to work to pick it up. I saw only one copy and it was on display. After I asked an employee nicely he gave it to me. The last copy and it was one of the biggest Mediamarkts in Europe! On my way out I noticed they had the MK8 bundure in stock(plenty) and it was only 289€, which is  even 10€ cheaper than on amazon. I didn't think long and grabbed it and went to work with a brand new Wii U, MK8 and SM3DW under my arm. First thing at work was canceling my order at amazon. Too bad though that it was already too late.

At work I had late shift this week so I was the only one in the office. There was only one thing to do in an empty office with a brand new console. Find the next best room with a video projector and hook your console up. Done, and after the long and tedious setup procedure and the even longer install of the latest firmware I was ready. A cold drink, a comfy chair and a giant projected MK8 at the wall. Of course I couldn't play all day but I managed to get a few rounds in before I had to work again.

And now I'm back at home and had time to do a few cups and have my very first online race ever. Of course I finished in top 5 on a yet unknown to me track.

So here a few thoughts about the Wii U and MK:

- the dual screen functions are nice
- the stylus makes everything easier
- the eshop is kind of slow but it's not like I'm not used to slow stores -.-
- the pad doesn't fit as good in my giant hands as I thought
- looks like I can't play extended sessions with the pad, which is why a pro controller is on its way due to arrive tomorrow
- MK8 looks about as hideous as I expected(it's my first 720p next gen game)
- you don't notice it during races but the moment you're not focusing the aliasing hits you in the face like a shovel
- battle mode suuuuuuucks, but it's nice that there are bots to play with
- but it's Mario Kart ;)

- Oh I tolly forgot that I LOVE the TV remote option!

Tomorrow when the delivery arrives with my pro controller and the amazon Wii U I will even have double as many Wii Us in my house as most of this forum's self proclaimed "Nintendo fans". Probably because I don't hate Nintendo as much as them. I will send it back of course but for that brief moment I will be double as happy as all y'alls!

Good choice with the Wii U. with the little amount of time you've had with Mario Kart, was it worth a purchase of a new console?

If you are a Mario Kart fan, GODS YES.

It is the most beautiful and best-playing Mario Kart ever. 

At least MK8 looked as bad as you expected, PS4 games tend to surprise me with how horrible the gameplay is on their games.

Good. Being a hater is just a self-imposed artificial limit that has no purpose.

Seeing how I couldn't even wait for another 24h for amazon to deliver I think it was worth it ;)

I don't think I will regret it anytime soon. Maybe MK doesn't qualify a purchase alone but MK, SM3DW, Bayontta 2, X and Zelda U sure do.
