The impact of a flagship franchise.  Although I did mistype.  I was more thinking that Wii U sales would be 3X what they were the previous week, so a 200% boost.  But it could be as much as 300%.  There's a lot of mainstream interest in this game.

Nintendo's last three big releases all came up against strong opposition. SM3DW released with the PS4 launch and XOne hype. DKC:TF launched with the PS4 in Japan. Now MK8 comes up against WD.

I am not claiming to be wiser than Iwata or the other honchos at Nintendo but I can't help but think this is rather stupid on their part. Ubisoft is in a stronger position with a far bigger platform market, hype and marketing. 

Today I picked up MK8 and there was nothing at the store advertising the game is even out. It as all WatchDogs and even freaking Titanfall that was out ages ago.

Why does Nintendo keep giving potential buyers a choice? At least give it a couple weeks between their games and the competition. Is that so hard?

I think the Wii U will get quite close, but a decent WD boost for the PS4 and MK not providing the several hundred percent boost a lot of people are imagining will ensure that the PS4 stays on top of the charts. I do think, however, that the Wii U will beat the 3DS this week.

Totally its only 2 above the Vita bundle for god sake, not even close to the Titanfall XO Bundle nevermind PS4.

It's definitely a flagship title on the WiiU but it will be more about legs than a front-loaded impact. I expect a boost of 100%-200% rather than 200%-300%. I think that was the impact of the predecessors on the older consoles. But let's see...

I find your analysis interesting, what makes you think the Xbox One will sell LESS with WatchDogs releasing on that platform as well? Just doesn't make sense to me, people who want to buy a Wii U for Mario Kart will do so, just like people who want to buy a PS4 for Watch Dogs will do so, I don't think the fact that Watch Dogs is also available on the PS4 and other platforms will lessen the Xbox One sales. They won't be as high as the PS4 but certainly not less than what they did last week lol

Another thing that doesn't make sense is that WiiU sold 34k last week and 260% on top of that is about 123k, not 160k. His numbers are messed up too.

No need more explanations, PS4 will sell more even if the Wii U has Mario Kart 8. Let's comment another thing, fo example, I highly doubt Nintendo's console will sell more than 85K units next week.
