I don't know why I just fancied giving it a go. I do love Greek mythology or rather mythology in general. I've never played a hack n slash before nope. Being a Nintendo fan for most of your life doesn't give you much exposure to that! But my Nintendo has kinda taken a back seat whilst I've been catching up with PS3 (and I've gotten addicted to trophy collecting). I've played LA Noire, Dishonored, Ni No Kuni, Skyrim, LotR War in the North, Ico and Heavy Rain. Just wanted to make sure I had something to play once I'd done with Heavy Rain!

If you've been willing to try out those games you listed just now, I see no reason why you won't enjoy the GoW series. It's popular for a reason. Be warned though, GoW 1 and 2 have some frustrating sequences from what I remember.
Dont get frustrtrated by GOW1 because "collision" is totally fucked up. There is some annoying jump passages that prevented me from actually playing the game because even tho I didnt miss the platform/stone the dumb game just thought I missed and I died.
GOW lacks alot of polish so be aware of that and dont expect to much because you will be disappointed.
GOW 3 is much much better than the first game.
Playing all three back to back will kill your motivation, so don't do that. There's only so much hack and slash and easy puzzles you can do before becoming tired.
My favourite one, without nostalgia glasses (I did like you and played them all for the 1st time through the collection) was GoW III.

Lords of Shadow 1 and 2, Dante's Inferno, DmC, DMC HD Collection, DMC4, X Men Origins Wolverine(even though it's a budget title,) and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 are much better games than the God of War games, so if you like them, you should give any of these games a shot. |
I still remember platinuming Wolverine, I couldn't have been more happy to have seen that Platinum appear. God of war 1 was a fun platinum, beating the game in under 5 hours was entertaining in itself.
