1954 World Cup. West Germany lost to Hungary 8-3 in group stage. In World Cup Final: Hungary would race to a two goal lead within 8 minutes. Germany would recover to win 3-2 and Hungary with one of the greatest teams of all time, were unbeaten for 30+ games would fade out to become an insignificant team that rarely makes World Cups. 60 years on Hungary still mourn the loss of the 1954 World Cup. Germany would go on to win 1974 and 1990 World Cup Finals and lose four World Cup Finals in 66', 82', 86' and 2002.

Costa Rica based on their two opening games and their coolness factor are definitely a Quarter Final or Semi Finalist team. I hope this Cinderella story continues for as long as possible and we see a Hollywood film on Costa Rican 2014 football team. Written off given no chance and slay giant teams one by one as they march on and on and on.

Biggest choke of World Cup: Spain collapsing like a pack of cards under the pressure of defending title with two terrible performance and humiliating losses to Holland and Chile forcing Spain out of the World Cup.
