Confirmed: Feyenoord are in contact with Robin Van Persie.

Surprised he's still in Turkey. Should have left ages ago, wasting his talent there.

Hmm, pie.

Kyle Walker is the worlds most expensive defender for about a week.

Some shady shit going on with Fenerbahce, I'm copy-pasting it from Reddit:

Some shady stuff is going on with Fenerbahce and second division team Boluspor.

Fenerbahce = Team from Istanbul that plays in the Super Lig, the top division of Turkey, the team has a market value of €89 million.
Boluspor = Team from Bolu that plays in the TFF 1.Lig, the second divison of Turkey, the team has a market value of €7.1 million.

Today news came out that Boluspor signed Fenerbahce's third keeper, Ertuğrul Taşkıran, for a sum of €1 million. Ertuğrul signed with Fenerbahce back in 2010, in the 7 years since he played a grand total of 6 games with Fenerbahce and was loaned out whenever he wasn't needed, according to Transfermarkt his market value is €400k.

Boluspor has been playing in the second division since 2008, since 2008 they have spent a grand total of €76k on incoming transfers. Today they announced that they signed Ertuğrul Taşkıran from Fenerbahce for a sum of €1 million on a 1 year deal.

So Boluspor has made their most expensive signing to date, they bought a player that is worth 1/7th the team and signed him to only a 1-year deal. They also bought a keeper a couple weeks ago, Gökhan Değirmenci.

Turkish teams are known to occasionally spend money in stupid ways, except that there is a catch, Fenerbahce has been held back by the FFP rules, this morning a newspaper published the following article, which translates to:

If there is no sale, Dirar will be left off the list.

The navy blue-yellows have to notify the UEFA Europa League of the list of players by this night. The problem that is knocking on the door is that one of the new transfers might not be on the list. If Fenerbahce doesn't sell a player worth €1 million till this night, according to the deal that they made with the UEFA, they have to cut either Dirar or Valbuena from the list. They will cut Dirar if needed.

So you have a team that is forced to sell players because of FFP, they sell a player for the exact amount that is needed to clear the sanctions of the FFP. The team buying hasn't bought a player for a fee since 2008, that fee was €78k, so they buy a keeper for €1 million, 1/7th the team's actual value, even though they bought a keeper a couple weeks back, so they now have a total of 4 keepers on the team.

The 3 most expensive defenders of all time and the most expensive goalkeeper all play for Man City now.

Bet we still end up with the worst defensive record of the top teams

I'm sure Liverpool will try to content with you guys on that one.

Which one, the most expensive defenders (Southampton want what, 60m for van Dijk?) or the poor defensive record?

Oh yeah aha probably both. Van Dijk may be great and everything but if their keeper can't do anything about shots then they'll have a poor defensive record.

You both will scores lots and lots of goals so I expect a lot of 3-2's.

I'd love a lot of 3-2s. Conceding goals is fine (and entertaining even) as long as you're still the winning side. It's the games where they dominate possession and chances but just can't get the ball in the stupid net and then concede a silly goal on a counter attack because the defence are too busy being attackers that are the problem

It's great when you win them but when it's 2-2 and times running out I'd much rather be 2-0 up and have breathing space even if you don't get that climactic last minute goal aha

So basically United's season?

So what do people make of Kylian Mbappe?

Loads of rumours going around linking him with transfers for absolutely insane values. Latest one is that Real Madrid have agreed a £161m fee.

Why are these figures so high? He's had one good season, and he's young with a potentially long career ahead of him. But there have been tonnes of players that have had a great season early in their careers and then just fizzled out after that. So why would anyone risk such a huge transfer fee?

If the buy him for that much, he's there for life. the team will be built around him. But he has to prove it. Imagine if he went there and scored less than Ronaldo who is 32.

And here I am hoping some idiot rch club by Van Dijk so we can just get the money.

Hmm, pie.
