This is not a doom thread i'm just amazed how well the SP did alone. Also, GBA had no competition. And it was released at the peak of the GBA so that may explain why sales were higher than 3DS for a while. GBA SP sales falttened as soon as it's 4th fisical year hit. And sold LT about what 3DS is right now. 3DS is a little under half it's life span. I think it will end up selling 80-100million units which is great. I remember when the GBA SP was released. I immediately pulled every string I could to get my hands on it. I mean come on, IT HAD A BUILD IN BACKLIGHT. Just that alone sold me on it right away.

Poor 3ds! It doesn't deserve the average sales! Yea yea, its great considering mobile but still not that good darn it!!!

Very interesting that they are both pretty similar except for last year.

I wanted a GBA SP so badly, but I never got it. At least the DS Lite looked even better, and by then I had money!

It sold very well on its own I see. Wonder how much 3DS will sell lifetime.

edit: It would be cool if you could include later years numbers for the SP, on its own! :)

I wonder how GBA+GBA SP combined looks. That might be a bit too harsh on the 3DS, though.

The SP was a wonderful console, I must say.

Thanks for adding that second graph. But is that sales in calendar years opposed to the first chart that was fiscal years?
