Im loving that weapon. here's to more of that in the full game. Awesome stuff right here. Most next-gen game by far ;)
That seamless transition between cutscene and gameplay is quite nice too. lets hope the story and gameplay are really good and Sony's got themselves another winner.

If you dont like the atmosphere, it's their game, how they want it to be, i dont remind people spiting on horror games because they mostly use dark atmosphere. This "more color is better " thing needs to stop. Maybe some people are getting of super colorful environment everywhere in some games, as much as you dont like when there is not enough color for you, and prefer more realistic /horrific atmosphere, still, they dont spit on the art choice of dev when they make a colorful game, if they dont like , they dont buy, as simple.
Thank you. |
This game is supposed to be horror? It's kinda hard to be scared when you have a gun that shoots flaming granades.
You can achieve realistic enviroment and still use more than 2 colors
An other day on VGC. An other day with people downplaying a game not on their fetish piece of plastic. -__-
The Sherlock Holmes movies must look like shit... They have the same color palette as this game.

A lot of Playstation fans ripped Gears of war for their choice of color palette as well. Why should this be any diffrent? Looks like a skinned gears game. should be fun, but nothing amazing. looks awesome.

You cant achieve a realistic environment in this context with a colorful environment. and yes, they want to have some scary part in the games like they said in some interviews, and not only that,investigation/exploration parts too, so it's not just a dumb pan pan boom boom, they aim for a good variety in gameplay.
You can achieve excellent art design using 2 colors ( if what we see is called 2 colors).

Woah woah woah.
That's not true. When Gears came out everyone was in awe. People got sick of all the grey and brown shooters in general and Gears happened to be one of them (one of the best also).
And even if it was true, you're proliferating the problem just by making that statement.

That kind of attitude and justification is repulsive.

Not in this instance. The Order is set in Victorian London at the tail end of the Industrial Revolution, having a bright colour pallet outside of the weapons would be EXTREMELY unrealistic, not to mention emmersion-breaking. I love the colour pallet of inFAMOUS: Second Son, and Sunset Overdrive's vibrant colours make me more interested in the game (although I won't be getting it unless it releases on PlayStation 4), but it would be impossible to incorporate colours within the setting of The Order beyond the weapons. That said, the stark contrast between the environments and the weapons makes the colours all the more beautiful to see.
