Thanks for answering. I guess I see your points. I think some may be disappointed though. I get the impression some think this will hit PGR, Horizon or Hot Pursuit scores for reviews. When I think it looks around a 60 meta

Anyway. Hope it plays better than the videos show for you wen yu get it. Maybe something we arent being shown. Would be cool if they can up the sense of speed though. Feels a little slow curently.

The fact is you came in here with that first post already planned. Saying "not trolling" and pretending to be nice. Then the second one you thank the person who answered you and say those things. It's called stealth trolling and you're not very good at it.

Looks quite good! But the crowd @about 9:40... Well, who cares about the crowd, right? It's going to be the best looking racer this gen so far but this was expected as it is 30fps (which I'd be perfectly fine with if they handle control input like Forza Horizon).

Game looks gorgeous. Gameplay looks average, which actually falls in line with Motorstorms track history (no pun intended). High 70's meta prediction.

Genuine question here.

What is it about this game that people think is omg?

Seriously, it look like NFS gameplay but without the cops and damage. The phyysics look really basic to. Even for an arcade racer.

Also some previews are saying Forza 5 is technically more impressive ( Specifically IGN with double the framerate ) .

So I just want to understand why this game is getting hyped? I dont quite understand.

Diclaimer - This is not a troll comment. But a genuine question. Thanks.

QuOTE"

Most importantly, racing is exciting – something last year's demo wasn't – and some of its track design is superb, delivered in a package accentuated by breakneck speed and breathtaking vistas. Heading into E3, DriveClub's the best-looking next-gen racer by a mile.

All the info as to why people are excited is in fron of you from the many positive previews today.

the game isnt on the same league as forza 5 visually, ryan mccaffrey from ign made that stupid comment, and he is well known to be a huge xbox fanboy.

the concept is simple really, your driving some amazing cars really fast around some of the most beautiful locations in the world, you have clubs to join and events and challenges to complete. personally im not that interested, but ill be getting it free on PS+ (well, a small part of it) so at least i will get to play it. but its simple to understand why that concept can appeal to people.

Im basing this on the developers meta history, which are all in the high 70s since 2009. Arctic Edge, Apocalypse, and RC. Also based on arcade racer Need for Spped Rivals which got a 75 on X1 and a 80 on PS4. Also the latest sims Forza 5 (80) and GT 6 (81).

Based on the developer, and recent arcade + sim metas, this game would be lucky to get a 80 at the most. Were looking at a mid-high 70's title.

That makes zero sense, I guess Uncharted reviews and last of us should have been lower, considering what JAx and daxter scored right? All great previews = good reviews.

Uncharted 1 in 2007 could have been estimated based on their previous work. Comparing Jak and Daxter to Last of Us makes no sense. You estimate Last of Us based on the Uncharted series. You base Uncharted 2 and 3 on their predesessor. Get it?

Previews are supposed to be positive. They can also be impartial and neutral. Reviews are where the critical aspects come in. Look. I took what the dev did in the last 4 years and also what other racers are pulling in. There is some ground for my estimation. The game is gorgeous but that won't save it if it doesn't have real substance.

Edit: It is ok to hype realistic metas. Don't let exclsuivity cloud your judgement. I personally hyped Titanfall in the high 80's because I knew lacking a campaign would hold it back. I was right because I didn't get blindly into the hype and logically predict based on the facts given. Just saying.
