remember 2004 and zelda tp announcement at e3.
gamecube was selling bad and didnt appeal most people.
but the zelda announcement blew all minds in the conference.

lame this time is not a conference, but zelda can be still relevant to decide who will win the e3.

Imho, Last year was a terrible example. I literally almost fell asleep watching the Sony conference. Everything about it was just terrible, slow execution, every game was either multiplat, I already knew about, or it didn't interest me. And it was 2 hours when It could have easily been an hour and a half. Oh, and they spent about 30 minutes talking about tv which was the biggest criticism from the xbox one announcement. But Sony won because the only thing people wanted was a 400 dollar price tag and no drm, which they got.

This year will hopefully be different, it seems that the only big announcements that each company will be talking about will be about the games. And that's they way it should be. So I for one am hoping that we get to see a lot of amazing games from each company and the winner isn't decided because of some fluke, but because they showed the best games.

You're definitely right about the sales though, but those are definitely not bigger franchizes than Zelda, lmao.

What are on earth are you talking about and why do you keep using gifs wrongly?  Halo and Uncharted will probably sell more copies than Zelda but they're not as big?

Wii Sports is the biggest franchise in gaming history by your logic.

Halo = John Cena

Zelda = Hulk Hogan

Sony > Nintendo > Microsoft

Around the Network

I'm going with Microsoft. I think they have their backs against the wall and they're going all out. They're going to spend a LOT of money and they're going to try to make this their best E3 ever because they're desperate. We're going to see Halo 5 footage which will blow people away and we're going to see snips of some of their other projects.

Sony has the most potential here, I think, but since they're in a good place, I don't think they'll rush. They have a TON of projects they could show off but I get the feeling they're not going to push them out early just to build hype. I hope I'm wrong about that.

Nintendo could do some damage with a crowd reaction for Zelda but obviously that won't happen. The gamer-journalists would go nuts and create a great atmosphere so that's a shame. Still, Zelda plus Smash Bros footage would be a great foundation. One or two big surprises and they could pull this away from Microsoft, though I don't even know if they HAVE those surprises. Showing more footage of games that have already been revealed won't do the trick and titles like Bayonetta, X, and Hyrule Warriors aren't very big to begin with.

My predicted order of finish:

1 - Microsoft: Desperation + Halo + lots of money.
2 - Nintendo: Zelda + Smash Bros. + plus a big surprise and they could take the top spot.
3 - Sony: They could contend if they trotted out all their projects but they're not under pressure to do that.

At the height of its life it was the biggest franchise, just as Halo and Uncharted are now bigger franchises than Zelda, franchises' importance isn't fixed.

If it is indeed true that scumbags always win...
Then EA will win E3...

Have a nice day...

No, because a new Wii Sports would not sell nearly as many copies as Halo 5.

I don't even know what you're trying to prove.  The topic is this year's E3.  Any discussion should be relative to that.

guys guys remember candy crush > uncharted+zelda combined
