Wii U: Good launch, dropped to 20k a week. Huge drought, bad third party support.
Xbox One: Good launch, sells more than 20k a week. No drought, good third party support.
Answer: Nope.

"that used to dominate the market" I stopped reading there. X360 never dominated any market. Unless you count the year that it was the only console on the market.. which would be stupid.

Yes they are similar. Both have had failed "gimmick" add-ons that have hurt the power and reputation of their respective console. Both are made by companies that started off on the wrong foot this gen.
Whether or not MS dodged a bullet by dropping Kinect remains to be seen. There's very little MS could right now to turn things around back into their favor. With the XOne inevitably selling less than the 360, it'll receive less 3rd party support.
The X1's fate has been sealed. It's a second-tier console compared to power and diverse catalog of the PS4 and the sheer force of Nintendo gaming brilliance on the Wii U/3DS.
I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

They dominated the North American market.. I think this is what he is refering to. Well. compared to the PS3.. sold about 18 million more.. just a million more then Wii.. (so that is not domination).. 46.5m for X360, 45.2m for Wii, and 28.4m for PS3..

Situations have a few similarities, but are more different than alike. XBOne and PS4 are very similar systems. The primary flaw of XBox was price, being $100 more than a near identical product. Having matched prices, we should see a much closer market share.
Wii U is a very different product than the other two. Price is a fairly minor factor. It already has a significant price advantage over other products, consumers just haven't wanted to purchase it.

No. MS is more like Sega, no matter how much they try they always fall short. It was expected. 360 launched first, with a better price and loads of games and still managed to end 3rd. Take the launch advantage, price point and loads of 3rd party exclusives out of the equation and what is happening with X1 is pretty much expected.

didnt bother reading the op honestly, the tittle was enough for me. the situations arent similar and i agree with this. Xb1 is in a way better situation than WiiU.

Even if Xbox One sells negative units in a quarter it will still get full versions of CoD, Battlefield, AC, and so on.

The Kinect did not hurt Xbox One's reputation. While it may have stopped people from picking one up when it was $499, that was rectafieid by now having a $399 option. For the Xbox One to be just 300k behind the PS4 in North America is PROOF of that.. $100 more console.. with all that "negative" press still manages to remain competitive. If their was any "hurting" of reputation it was their original Xbox One announcment.. but again.. the majority of mainstream American who will be the next 50-60 million to buy the PS4/Xbox One over the next few years knows almost nothing about that. Nor will they even know about the Kinect version being the only option originally availble.. The first 18 million who bought the Wii U/Xbox One/PS4 are true mostly hardcore fans with a few mainstream buyers.. The general buying public doesn't pick up on new consoles to a year or more after release..
The Wii U is the one NOT recieving 3rd party support already.. PS4/Xbox One are getting the 3rd party next Gen titles, the Wii U isn't.. so BIG difference there.
XOnes fate is sealed? By 2 things that are your opinion.. how is the PS4 catalog any more diverse then Xbox One? Up until now.. the Xbox One has mainly been considered to have the stronger line-up.. (not counting Indies.. which doesn't drive console buying). Even still there are LESS console exclusives then ever before.. with more titles that were ONLY on Playstation now coming to X1. and the sheer force of Nintendo's brillance sure has already failed the Wii U. (Not sure why 3DS was even included in this).. The Wii U has passed that 1 year mark.. and the general population has lost interest.... So .. real confused by this statement.
