If there is ever a thread that needs to be bumped a year from now, it's this one.
It's kind of funny because the answer is actually in the OP, even if it's cluttered up with the childish stuff. Third party support. The PS4 will have the same Japanese exclusives that the PS3 had. Japanese developers are a lot slower to switch systems, that's been well established in the past, so it's just going to take awhile before they drop PS3 support. When they do, the PS4 will be the system they release games for.
I expect TGS to get some big announcements this year and next, with most of the games releasing late 2015 or in 2016.
Now, for context, I said the exact same thing about the Vita over a year ago. I said that it would take awhile for developers to switch from the PSP but when they did, it would get a fair amount of games. Actually, several of the people in this thread said I was wrong, that all those developers would jump to the 3DS, and that the Vita would be abandoned in Japan. Right now, it's probably getting more third party support than the 3DS. I expect the same thing to happen with the PS4 and I expect the exact same people to argue otherwise.
