Forums - Gaming - Will Sony's PlayStation 4 Be a Bigger Flop Than Nintendo's Wii U in Japan?

It will catch the Wii U soon enough. There will be enough support for it in the near future and if the PS3 is any indication it will be supported for some time.

It will never catch the Wii U.  The XOne will do the same numbers if it launches in Japan.  There will no longer be a need to support that platform.  The Wii U will be getting the same games the PS4 getting.  The PS3 will soon fall off a cliff too when the must have games come.

We should be a bit honest, which games are there for the PS4 in Japan? It's doing just fine for the amount of games.

Yeah, because the WiiU hardware is as good as the Playstation 4's. In 14 months we are going to bump this thread and see how the numbers are looking, okay?

It was a bad idea to release it without Japanese game support, and after the holiday season on top of that. It's only natural that it would go into a sales slump. Honestly, the Japan PS4 launch was handled quite poorly.

Once big names like Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, and Metal Gear get into the action, among other third party developers, expect major growth. Xbox is a nonfactor in Japan, and the Wii U is mostly ignored by developers, so these games are effectively exclusive.

And you base that on what exactly?

There are already coming exclusive games to the PS4. FFXV and MG will boost the install base further. More and more devs will switch over to PS4 as the install base grows. Both PS4 and PS3 are currently outsellung the Wii U showing that there is more demand for Playstation. Add to that the synergy the Vita brings with it and you got yourself a PS4 market.

But sure you can just continue to deny everything.

Was just about to make a thread for it.

How does 2016 sound? that's half of the gen for PS4.

Maybe they want to wait for actual games to hit the PS4.

Same can be said for WiiU by your example :P (well to a lesser extent of course)
