Forums - Gaming - Official Watch_Dogs Review Thread - 82 From 41 Review

it is impossible to play the game , it turned gold just few days ago , and how would he have played the online ! he is alone in the world who posses this "copie" , and don't forget that ubisoft is locking the online until he is out .
i think it is so obvious that he is lying .

I don't see how that is a review. Is this place turning into GameFAQs?

Not particularly. I was planning on making an official review thread and this seemed like a reasonable catalyst for it.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Even if the game did end up in the mid seventies i still suspect it to sell good. see the first assasins creed.

The first AC tough came out at the peak of the Hype, the watch dogs hype train has already left the station. I mean it will still do relatively well but it wont sell 6 million units by the end of the year.

I don't think 6 million in 2014 is very hard to reach for Watch Dogs, unless it turns out really bad.

It releases on 5 platforms in May after all, that's only 1.2 million per platform. PS4 should probably double 1.2 million and the X1 should also relatively easy get above it, so the 360, PS3 and PC would only need to sell about 2 million combined for the game to reach 6 million.

If Vgchartz' pre order chart is at least something to go by then I can see Watch Dogs already doing 2 million across all platforms in its first week.

Gaf is saying its fake and from the beta

Really hope we get clarification of the online bs though

Conclusion

One huge caveat/punishment Ubisoft implemented is when you do turn off the Online Option, all your skills accumulated are reset to zero. You read that right. They all get reset to zero. All the online-specific skills reset to zero as punishment for not wanting to play online, something which is entirely disappointing. Either you keep getting invaded, or you get punished for wanting to play sometimes and not other times with the online mode.

Ouch.

Not that I would care since I will never turn on the online function.

So since I don't like being invaded I should turn off online before I start playing, then I don't lose anything.

I don't understand the rationale behind downscoring a "great single player" game with "lots to do" in single player, for having a lackluster MP. Clearly as a SP focussed game a score should be weighted to the SP experience, just like MP focussed games should have score weighted towards the MP experience.

Reviewers seem to want to be harder on games these days, which is fine. So instead of only 80+ being worth a look 70+ is the new base for what is a good game, which is much better and at least where it should have been all along.

I'll wait for more reputable sites to review the game.

It is a possibility. But what caught me out more than the score or the "review" is the online comment.

yup that really bugs me, but i guess there is a hope it wont be in the final game...   it doesnt effect SP in any manner to turn it off, but they always shove some stupid MP trophies in there  so you gotta put up with the garbage if you want plat.    and ruins it for anyone that wants to dabble in it just a little.

I hope it does altough my interest has faded I still like Ubisoft enough to wish em luck with their projects. I just feel like many people have lost interest in this game because it has been so heavily promoted for almost two years.
